Sensorium Showcases Latest Metaverse & Blockchain Innovations At GITEX 2021

The Sensorium team continues to make its way into the global tech scene, now at GITEX Technology Week — the most well-known IT exhibition in the Persian Gulf region.

Our company took part in this 41st edition of the event (October 17–21) with a booth in Hall 4 at the Dubai World Trade Center, a sector dedicated to organizations in the Artificial Intelligence field. Sensorium shared the conference floor with some of the world’s most powerful brands like Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Huawei, and others.

At this week-long event, Sensorium showcased two of its major developments: the Sensorium Galaxy metaverse and the recently launched entertainment-focused blockchain Wakatta. This conference was an opportunity to establish connections with industry and government leaders, potentially opening new exciting paths for collaborations.

First launched in 1981, GITEX has become the biggest and most prestigious tech conference in the Middle East, bringing together the key players in the fields of AI, 5G, Cloud, BigData, Cybersecurity, Blockchain, Quantum Computing, and many more.

This year’s edition featured a broad selection of global enterprises and startups. More than 4000 exhibitors from across 26 sectors engaged with the audience through keynote sessions, workshops, live demos, and all sorts of activities.

“GITEX is the place to be for companies building the future. Sensorium is elevating digital entertainment as we know it with immersive, high-quality experiences, and a flexible blockchain-based infrastructure. This conference serves a unique platform to show the advancements in our field, increase awareness for our products, and establish long-lasting connections to strenghten our positioning further,” said Alex Blagirev, Deputy CEO of Sensorium and Co-founder & COO of Wakatta.

In parallel, Sensorium participated as a Bronze Sponsor of the Future Blockchain Summit — the world’s first city-hosted blockchain festival. This symposium is organized by Smart Dubai. Following its aim to becoming the first ever blockchain-powered city, this conference acts as a gateway to connect blockchain entrepeneurs, enthusiassts and officials with the latest innovations in private and public sector applications.

The Sensorium team contributed to the agenda of this blockchain-focused conference with multiple keynotes and panel discussions, specifically targeting some of the most trendiest topics such as the role of NFTs in virtual environments and the relationship between blockchain and metaverses.

The NFT topic was tackled by Matias Lapuschin, Head of Content at Sensorium and Wakatta. On October 18, he held a one-hour workshop titled “How to leverage NFTs to enhance virtual environments and creator economies”. On the same date, he presented a keynote on “Boosting creativity with next-gen upgradable NFTs”.

Sensorium Deputy CEO Alex Blagirev participated at high-level panel discussions on October 20 with direct focus on the metaverse and the evolution of virtual economies. Accompanied by Bartek Sibiga (Co-Founder, Fanadise), Fraser Gordon, (CEO, Quantum Works) and Ritam Gupta (Founder & CEO, DeFi11), Alex engaged in a vivid fireside chat exploring the symbiosis between gaming and blockchain.
